Giving Back to the Community
At Long’s Furniture World and Mattress, we have strong convictions about helping people and organizations for the good of the community. For more than 15 years, under the leadership of Doug Petroskey, we have given to many organizations both throughout the country and right here in the Hoosier state. Below is a list of several organizations we have in the past or currently partner with:
American Cancer Society
Non-for profit organization that helps research cures to cancer and helps those afflicted.
Franklin Central High School Singers
Local High School that has over 500 students participating in several choirs that have several state championships.
Hendricks County FOP 132 – Shop with a COP
A charitable effort sponsored by the Hendricks County Fraternal Order of Police, that provides Christmas gifts for the children in need in Hendricks County.
The Hope Center
An Indianapolis-based charity that provides food and shelter for the victims of human trafficking in the greater Indy area.
The Humane Society
An organization dedicated to animal protection and animal rights throughout the nation.
Johnson County Senior Services
A charitable effort that provides free transportation for seniors and those with disabilities in addition to providing food to seniors in need.
Riley Hospital for Children
An Indianapolis-based hospital that serves the needs of children throughout the state of Indiana and beyond.
Tails of Joy
A nonprofit organization founded by stand-up comedian Elayne Boosler, that benefits the smallest, neediest rescue organizations and individual cases nationwide.
Indiana Wish
Indiana Wish is an Indiana-focused, wish-granting organization. Since 1984, we’ve granted more than 3,400 wishes to Indiana children, ages 3-18, who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening or terminal illness. As a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, funding for wishes is made possible through the support of corporate donations, individuals and fundraising events.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is a voluntary health organization that advocates for research and education around suicide, based in New York City, with a public policy office based in Washington, D.C. The organization’s stated mission is to “save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.”
